“I believe the Parents & P Platers event is extremely worthwhile for both new drivers and their parents.  

Each session was highly informative and my daughter commented that she had learnt more about maintaining her vehicle and felt confident to do so.  The presenters were skilled and willing to answer questions.  

I felt that each session was well timed and gave ample opportunity for each to provide their information.

I have already recommended this event to friends and relatives.  I hope the event will still be running when my son is an L or P player in 3-4 years time, as I will be wanting him to attend.

I was amazed at the number of prizes given at the end of the night and was thrilled to be a winner.  

The evening was extremely well organised from beginning to end.  The groups had an appropriate number of people in them and the rotations were well timed.

I would like to thank Grand Motors and their associates on the evening for running a highly informative event.  This event is a tremendous community event and I hope it can be continued in the future.  I believe much of the information is essential for all drivers and it is great to educate inexperienced drivers of aspects of their vehicle and driving that they may not consider everyday; such as vehicle security, what happens when an air bag is activated, safely changing a tyre, checking under the bonnet of a vehicle, possible consequences of inattentive driving and much more.

Regarding Parents & P Platers Motoring Safety Event:

"I just wanted to give you some feedback as this was a most valuable program for young people starting out or in their early years of driving. Gabby was keen to attend and learnt a lot about a vehicle and its simple engine care, tyre changing, demonstration of an airbag and the engineering/mechanics of air bags, correct positioning in a vehicle, driving rules but most valuable and poignant of all was the message that came from our Fire and Rescue Service and the Qld Police in relation to safe driving, drinking and texting, peer pressure and the consequences/results of accidents. This was a real eye opener to all in attendance to hear first hand of the impact of the decisions some of our young people make in relation to driving.

If the opportunity arises again for attendance at this free community service event I would suggest that our students in Yr 11 and 12 are advised directly of the invitation and it’s worth. Especially now that funding has been cut for the Qld Fire and Rescue to attend schools and deliver a road safety presentation as they were able to in the past and also given the current  attitude of a minority  of our Year 12 young drivers!

Gabby and Kyra learnt a great deal and it has made our family think about our driving habits and make some positive changes! I thank Grand Motors Toyota for their efforts in co-ordinating and hosting  the event and look forward to spreading the word to our senior school community should the opportunity  arise again."
